About the Game
In the first Borderlands, Vault Hunters Roland, Lilith, Brick, and Mordecai uncovered an alien vault on Pandora, rumored to hold unimaginable treasures. In the aftermath, a rare mineral—Eridium—emerged, quickly seized by the ruthless Hyperion Corporation under the guise of “peace.”
Five years later, Pandora is again on the brink. This time, a new generation of Vault Hunters rises to challenge Handsome Jack, Hyperion’s tyrannical CEO, in a quest to locate an even greater vault. Betrayed and left for dead on a sabotaged train, the heroes narrowly escape and set out once more—taking on Jack, his armies, and the mysteries of Pandora. Along the way, players reunite with legends from the first game, completing story-driven missions and dynamic side quests.
Characterization for the Win
Borderlands 2 introduces four new playable Vault Hunters (plus two bonus DLC characters), while the heroes of the first game return as central NPCs. Each new Hunter carries a dark past and powerful abilities:
