Resident Evil Village for PC is a survival horror game and the tenth main entry in the Resident Evil franchise, making it the 26th release when including spin-offs and remakes. Sometimes referred to as Resident Evil 8: Village, the developers cleverly incorporated a hidden puzzle in the title by using Roman numerals "VIII" to represent the number eight, embedded within the word "Village."

About the Game

This first-person game allows for six-player online multiplayer. Set a few years after Resident Evil Seven, Ethan Winters returns as the protagonist, joined by his wife Mia. Ethan’s inventory is managed through a virtual briefcase, and he frequently visits a vendor named Duke to purchase weapons and healing items. This version emphasizes exploration and combat more than previous titles, while still delivering a captivating and terrifying storyline.

The game is more open-world compared to its predecessor, allowing for greater exploration and character development.

The plot takes a dark turn when Chris Redfield suddenly visits Ethan, disrupting his peaceful life. Ethan is compelled to chase after Chris, leading him to a remote village where nothing is as it seems. The nearby castle is home to a towering vampire woman and her sinister daughters. As Ethan delves deeper, he encounters mysterious creatures and faces overwhelming threats, including massive blue werewolves, with more surprises awaiting him.

RE: Verse Bonus

Owners of Resident Evil Village also receive access to Resident Evil RE: Verse, an online game featuring beloved characters and locations from across the franchise. In a unique twist, if you die in RE: Verse, you instantly respawn as a bioweapon, allowing you to exact revenge on your killer. While included with Village, RE: Verse has no direct connection to the main storyline.
